Varicose veins: our experience in KVG Medical College and Hospital, Karnataka

Background: The varicose veins is the most common vascular disorder of lower extremities. It affects more than 5% adult population but in India incidence seems to be far less because patients come for complications such as pain, oedema, pigmentation and ulceration leading tip Iceberg phenomenon. This study will help finding epidemiology, mode presentation effect surgery on venous ulcers recurrence. aims objectives was according age, sex occupation with spectrum clinical veins. To determine healing if present recurrence upto 6 months.Methods: prospective involved 50 admitted KVG Medical College Hospital, Sullia diagnosis period 18 months inclusive a month follow up period.Results: Most between 41 years (26 %.), males (74%), left side involvement (70%) farmer by (40%) pain presenting symptom (76%). Long saphenous system (94%). out showed 4 patient 21 ulcer patients.Conclusions: For saphenofemoral junction ligation stripping vein perforator good outcome. Venous heal well after few recurrences.
